Do I need a reservation?

In peak season (July & August) reservations are strongly recommended.

Is a deposit necessary? Why?

1. Yes. A deposit of 30% of your pre-tax rental amount is required to secure your reservation. The balance with taxes, is payable on arrival - please see our Deposit and Cancellation Page.

2. PEI can host upward of 1,000,000 visitors in the April/October period. Vacancies in the busiest time of the season can be difficult to find.

What is your deposit refund policy?

Cancellation of a booking prior to May 1 will result in a full refund. After May 1, refunds are granted when the unit is re-booked and paid for. Any and all cancellations are subject to a forfeit of $50.00 from the deposit.  - please see our Deposit and Cancellation Page. Purchasing trip cancellation insurance should be considered.

Are you near the Ocean?

Our location is a mere 350 metres (380 yards) from the sea-shore and you can see the water from Windermere.

Are you easy to find?

The entrance to Windermere is located inside the National Park. We are situated in the Stanhope Beach area of the Park.
From Charlottetown, follow Route 15 to Brackley Beach, enter the Park and follow the Gulf Shore Parkway, East for about 6 KM's (4 miles).

Do I have to pay the Park entry fee?

If you are a guest arriving at Windermere, the National Park will allow you to enter and leave without paying the Park fee. If you park your vehicle on National Park property, you are expected to have a paid-for pass. Cycling, hiking & beach activities do not require a pass.

What should I bring to the cottage?

Other than food and drink, we try to supply most of your needs for your stay. Dishes, cutlery, pots & pans, toaster and coffee maker are in all of the cottages. We provide linens, blankets, pillows and toweling for each guest. We do not supply beach towels. (Now providing propane BBQ's).

Do you provide maid service?

No. Linens are supplied and are replaced weekly. If your visit extends beyond 7 days, we will refresh your cottage. ( by request only ) There are Laundromats nearby for personal laundry.

Is the water safe to drink?

We have two wells on the property that are tested regularly for purity and bacteria. Approval for consumption has been awarded, year after year.

Are pets allowed?

No. We regret that we had to change our policy, however because of liability concerns, it became necessary to exclude pets.
